NEW ULM, Minn. - The Martin Luther College women's tennis team lost 8-1 to Wartburg College in a non-conference match on Saturday.

Wartburg built an early 3-0 lead thanks to a doubles sweep, topping the Knights 8-4, 8-4 and 8-6.

MLC scored its lone point thanks to Sarah Hoffe in number-five singles as the she won in three sets 6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (11-9).

The Knights dropped to 0-7 on the season in defeat. Wartburg improved to 12-12 with the win.

MLC will return to action on Tuesday, April 12, when it hosts Bethany Lutheran for a match scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m.
