In a very physical matchup, the Knights defense shined through. GK Grace Sievert had seven saves on the day. The defense was led by Lilianne Zimpelmann, who helped the Knights defend against the 14 shots of Finlandia.
The offensive attack for the Knights was led by Hannah Schroeder and Kaitlin Butler as the Knights had 20 shots total, 9 of those on goal. Â
Finlandia GK Aspen Wallin had 9 saves. The Finlandia attack was led by Marissa Schilling and Anaya Arretche who both contributed 2 shots on goal.
The battle for possession went back and forth in a game that went down to the very last seconds of the match. Coach Zarnstorff described the last ten minutes as a furious time as each time had several opportunities to score. The Knights are now 1-1-1 on the season.
