The MLC women's soccer team opened with a strong shutout win by defeating Maranatha Baptist 4-0 in a match at Watertown Wis. The Knights took the earl lead and were ahead 2-0 at the half. MLC added two goals in the second half th cement the win. At the 9:11 mark of the first half, Hannah Schroeder opened the scoring on an assist from Tabitha Gregorius. Two minutes later, Megan Marohn scored an unassisted goal. At the 58:33 mark in the second half, Schroeder scored again, this time on an assist from Nicole Porter. Gregorius added a goal late on an assist from Porter to end the scoring. The Knights took 50 shots on goal in the match, while Grace Sievert and Lily Schultz combined for the goalie shutout. The Knights return to action at home against Viterbo on Monday, Sept. 5, at 4 p.m.
