The MLC women's dropped their home opener, 8-2, to Viterbo on Monday, September 5. Viterbo's skilled squad jumped out to a 5-0 first half lead off of three goals by Grace Breuchel. The Knights came out with a better second half. Coach Tyson Zarnstorff said, "Our touches and passes were much better in the second half, which made us more competitive. The Knights scored two goals in the second half. Hannah Schroeder scored off an assist from first-year Hailey Rice. A few minutes later, Rice scored her own unassisted goal. The V-Hawks added three goals in the second half, all by Breuchel who wound up with six goals for the match. The Knights return to action on Saturday, September 10 when they host Finlandia in a 1:00 pm matchup.
