St. Bonifacius, MN - The Martin Luther College women's soccer squad was unable to complete the season sweep of the Crown on Saturday afternoon, as the Polars reversed their 1-0 loss to MLC in September with a win this time around.
The score remained 0-0 throughout the first period, with both teams working hard on the field, but neither school was able to find the back of the net. That would change in the 66th minute when Abigail Schull scored a goal for the Polars, following a corner kick and an attempted shot.
The Knights would have a shot on goal shortly after from
Madeline Bourman, but were unable to tie up the game.
Crown outshot the Knights 15-9, including 12-4 on net, but goalkeeper
Reba Schroeder gave another solid performance at the goalkeeper position, picking up 11 saves.
MLC (3-9-2, 2-6-2) now heads on the road for a conference game with Minnesota Morris. The two teams met in September with the game ending in a 1-1 draw. The Knights hope to get an extra goal when they face off on Tuesday, October 17, at 1 p.m.
