St. Paul, MN - The Martin Luther College men's basketball team lost its road opener on Tuesday night to the Hamline Pipers 78-47. 

MLC had started the first half with some early momentum and even had the lead for a good stretch, but the Pipers went on a 21-0 run over the span of seven minutes and never looked back.

Hamline had the edge in turnovers, forcing 30 MLC miscues and scored 37 points off of those turnovers. 

The Knights did find a positive spark in their outside shooting though and shot 6-of-16 on the night for 37.5 percent from beyond the arc.

Nathan Miller led MLC in scoring with nine points, while Micah Kieselhorst and Ethan Kjenstad added seven points apiece.

MLC (0-3) will look to bounce back with their road game at Rockford University on Saturday, November 18.
