Men's Tennis Shutout in 9-0 Defeat to Yellowjackets

    Superior, WI - The MLC men's tennis team traveled to UW-Superior for their second UMAC match of the season on Sunday, March 26. The Knights are coming off their best performance of the season, when they defeated Crown 7-2 last Tuesday. Despite the momentum, MLC was unable to get a winning streak going and was shutout 9-0 to the Yellowjackets.

    UW-Superior controlled all three doubles matches, but MLC put up a good fight in the first match, with Josiah Wordell and Johannes Bourman extending their match further in their 5-8 loss.

    Wordell also gave a stellar effort in his number one singles match against Vitor Sakakibara, where he lost (4-6, 1-6). The rest of the Knights' struggled to get many points in their matches, but received another hard working dual from their number three singles player, Elijah Schulz, who lost his match (0-6, 3-6).

MLC (1-3, 1-1) will look to get back onto the winning side of things when they head to St. Paul to play Hamline at 3 p.m on Tuesday, March 28.
