St. Peter, MN - The MLC men's tennis team was swept 9-0 to UW-Superior on Saturday, April 22. The match was held in St. Peter at the Swanson Tennis Center.

The Knights were swept 9-0 in both matches against the Yellowjackets, who improved to 21-3 on the year and remain undefeated (9-0) in UMAC play.

After UW-Superior swept MLC in doubles play, they continued to carry that dominant performance over into singles play. The top four players for MLC had difficulty holding off the balanced attack of the Yellowjackets, as the closest result for MLC came from a 0-6, 0-4 loss from Josiah Koelpin.

The Knights' Matthew Koelpin fought tough in his No. 5 match, losing in a final set-tiebreaker 7-5, 0-6, (0-1) 7-10. Brian Friesenneger went down in his No. 6 match 4-6, 2-6.

MLC (3-10, 3-5) will play their final UMAC match of the season at home on Monday, April 24, against Minnesota Morris. The match would be the first match played on the new MLC tennis courts of the season.
