Women's Soccer Plays Hard in Loss to Hamline

St. Paul, MN - The Martin Luther College women's soccer team faced off with Hamline University on Sunday afternoon in a game that featured very windy conditions up in the Twin Cities. MLC would play the MIAC school tough but ultimately fell 3-0 in the nonconference matchup.

The Pipers got off 12 shots ( nine on goal) and converted on one of their first opportunities in the beginning of the game when Maya Dempsey scored. The Pipers added their second goal near the end of the first period and tacked on an insurance goal with another Dempsey goal around the 52nd-minute mark.

Despite the loss, the Knights played solid defense and slowed down Hamline at times throughout the game. Maria Vik made six saves as the MLC goalkeeper.

MLC 4-8-1 overall, 2-4 UMAC and will host Bethany Lutheran on Wednesday, October 16, at 3:30 p.m.
