New Ulm, MN - The Crown Polars scored three goals in the first 20 minutes of the first period in their 4-0 win over MLC on Saturday. Ashton Hosler scored the first two goals, putting the Polars on the scoreboard with less than five minutes gone off the clock.
Juan Fernando Arriaga gave Crown a 3-0 advantage in the 17th minute and the Polars converted on a penalty kick just before halftime, when Duilio Del Carpio attempted with 35:27 on the clock.
Crown had a 23-10 advantage in shots over MLC and the Polars had 14 on goal. Despite the loss, the MLC defense buckled down in the second period and didn't allow any goals for the final 45 minutes of action, as freshman goalkeeper
Nicholas Russ recorded 10 saves.
MLC (2-12-2, 1-8-1) will host Minnesota Morris on Tuesday, October 22, at 1 p.m., in its final home contest of the 2024 season.
