New Ulm, MN - The Martin Luther College women's soccer team lost its Saturday afternoon home contest to Crown
5-0.
The Polars were led by Lexi Shreve, who found the back of the net three times, recording the hat trick in her team's win. Shreve scored on two of her goals near the end of the first half, as she put Crown up 2-0 at the 29th minute and then followed that up with a goal at the 41st minute.
Shreve scored her third goal 15 minutes into the second period, and the Polars made it 5-0 on a Layla Kerr header around the 70th minute.
Crown had the edge in total shots 31-13 and shots on goal 15-6.
Naomi Foley led MLC in shots on goal (3), while
Katie Schoeneck finished with two shots on target. Defensively,
Maria Vik had 10 saves at goalie for the Knights, while Rachel Fuller had the clean sheet for the Polars with six saves.
MLC 4-9-2, 2-5-1 will host Minnesota Morris on Tuesday, October 22, at 3:30 p.m. for their final home game of 2024.
