Women's Soccer Finishes Third Matchup with UM-Morris in a Scoreless Draw

New Ulm, MN - MLC women's soccer played Minnesota Morris for a third time this season after defeating the Cougars 1-0 twice back in mid-September. On Tuesday, both of the defenses wouldn't budge, as neither team found the back of the net, resulting in a 0-0 tie.

Both teams were nearly even in shots taken in the first period with MLC (5) and the Cougars (6), but the Knights controlled possession of the ball more frequently in the second period and rattled off 13 shots in the second half compared to just four by Minnesota Morris. Despite the amount of shots taken, the Knights were unable to convert, but played hard until the final whistle in the draw.

Katie Schoeneck led MLC with five shots (2 on target), while Naomi Foley got off two shots on goal as well. Senior Grace Seim played her final home game with MLC and joined her teammates with two shots on net.

Maria Vik recorded the shutout and had three saves in the process.

Up next for MLC (4-9-3, 2-5-2) is a road game at UW-Superior at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 26.
