Roseville, MN - The Martin Luther College men's soccer lost to Northwestern
6-1 in a UMAC match on Wednesday evening up in the Twin Cities. The Knights did get off to one of their quickest starts of the season though as
Joshua Krenke connected on a shot just before the seventh minute of action, putting MLC up 1-0. Krenke made the goal off of an assist from fellow freshman
Caleb Pausma. The Krenke goal gave the freshman his fourth of the season, giving him the team lead in that category.
The Knights held their 1-0 lead for a while until the Eagles evened it up with a goal from Simeon Friesen in the 24th minute. Northwestern took the lead 2-1 when Friesen found his teammate Jared Mojardin in the 30th minute.
The Eagles didn't have to wait too long to add another goal as Julian Menjivar made it 3-1 heading into halftime.
The Northwestern attack got going fairly early in the second period and tacked on three more goals within 10 minutes of each other to officially put the game out of reach.
MLC (3-14-2, 2-10-1) will conclude their season with an away game at North Central on Saturday, November 2, at 1 p.m.
