Grace Kieselhorst achieved the 1,000 career assist milestone at MLC on Friday evening in the Knights' home match against UW-Superior. The Yellowjackets defeated the Knights
3-1 in the contest.
Kieselhorst got the magic number assist early on in the first set, but UW-Superior opened up with a 25-15 win to open up the match. The Yellowjackets followed that up with a second set (25-14) in which they recorded 15 kills and only two errors for a .406 hitting percentage to go up 2-0 in the match.
From there, MLC would not allow UW-Superior to leave with a sweep and fought back with an impressive third set, where they racked up 18 kills on just three errors. MLC cut the match to 2-1 with a 25-17 victory in that one, but the Yellowjackets quickly responded with a 25-10 win in the final set that gave them the contest.
Kieselhorst had an all-around match and had a triple-double with 16 kills, 15 assists, and 10 digs. Meanwhile, fellow senior
Lauren Paulsen led the Knights in digs (20), aces (2), and blocks (2).
Anna Kieselhorst also scooped out 18 digs and
Ella Walz had a team-best 22 assists.
Up next for MLC (7-20, 4-9) is their final match of 2024 and it will be a home contest with Northland College on Saturday, November 9, at 11 a.m.
