Owatonna, MN - The Martin Luther College men's tennis team picked up its second consecutive win of the season over the Crown Polars on Saturday. The Knights edged out the Polars
5-4 in a neutral court match in Owatonna, MN.
The men had over a month off, but did enough and took four of five singles matches to top Crown.Â
Elijah Schulz and
Josiah Koelpin won the No. 2 doubles match 8-1 for the fifth point.
Johannes Bourman won his No. 1 singles match 6-2, 7-6 and ultimately decided the match with a 7-4 tiebreaker in the second set over Crown's Tade Geving.
Eli Stern claimed his No. 4 match 6-3, 6-2, while Schulz secured the victory in his No. 5 match 6-3, 6-1.
Brian Friesenegger gave MLC the fourth singles win 6-2, 6-1 and the Knights won their sixth-straight match against Crown since the 2018 season.
MLC improves to 2-2 overall with the win and will be playing Wartburg for a 3:30 p.m. match on Tuesday, April 2.
