Storm Lake, IA - The MLC men's tennis team fell on the road to Buena Vista 8-1 on Monday. In the match, the No. 3 doubles duo of Brian Friesenegger and Eli Stern won their third consecutive doubles match for the Knights' only point (8-6).

Despite getting swept in singles competition, the men gave their opponents some tough outs and forced multiple tiebreaker situations. In No. 1 singles, Johannes Bourman took it to a back-and-forth third set, but lost 2-6, 6-4, 8-10, while Friesenegger made it a challenge (3-6, 6-4, 5-10) in No. 6 singles.

Elijah Schulz played hard in No. 5 singles before his opponent claimed the win 6-7 (2-7), 1-6.

MLC (2-5, 0-1) go on the road again for a pair of non-conference matches against Hamline and Northwestern in St. Paul. Match one with the Pipers is at 4 p.m. and the second outing with the Eagles will be at 7 p.m.
