Storm Lake, IA - The MLC women's tennis team had another impressive showing in their Monday match with Buena Vista University. Following a 9-0 sweep of Crown on Saturday, the Knights came back on the road and took down the Beavers
7-2 in a collective effort from all players.
The women took two of three doubles matches (No. 2 Katie &
Rachel Schoeneck, 8-4 and No. 3
Rebekah Schroeder &
Katie Kutz 8-2) to set the tone in the match.
Britney Prahl won her match at No. 1 singles with a 6-2, 6-1 performance, while
Abigail Schewe claimed her No. 3 match in convincing fashion 6-0, 6-1.
MLC then swept their other three singles competitions, with
Rachel Schoeneck winning No. 4 (6-4, 6-0) and
Katie Schoeneck (6-3, 6-1)Â at No. 5 singles.
Rachel Schoeneck now has a team-high four singles wins at the halfway point in the season. Schroeder won her first career singles appearance in a 6-2, 6-4 victory at No. 6.
MLC (3-4, 1-0) has another couple of non-conference matches on Wednesday, April 10, against Hamline and Northwestern in St. Paul. The match with the Pipers is at 4 p.m. and the contest with the Eagles will be at 7 p.m.
