Redhawks Control Ball in Win Over MLC

Ripon, WI - The Martin Luther College men's soccer squad was unable to get much going in their road non-conference matchup with Ripon College on Saturday. The Redhawks defeated MLC 7-1.

Ripon put up four goals in the first period to separate from the Knights and did so fairly early with all four scores coming before the 25th minute of the opening period.

However, freshman Joshua Krenke scored the first goal of his collegiate career in the 50th minute to get the Knights on the board. Following Krenke's goal, the Redhawks added on another three goals to put away the game.

Ripon had the advantage in shots on goal 13-1 and had eight corner kick opportunities within the 90 minutes of action.

MLC (0-4-1) will aim for their first win of the season as they go on the road to face Minnesota Morris on Wednesday, September 18. The game starts at 4:30 p.m. and it will serve as the conference opener for MLC.
