Morris, MN - The MLC men's soccer team played hard on Wednesday evening in a road contest at Minnesota Morris and got off 15 shots against the Cougars, but were unable to convert on their offensive chances and lost their conference opener
4-0.
On the flip side, Minnesota Morris was able to cash in on some of their shots and found the back of the net three times in the first period. The Knights were right there in total shots, but the Cougars had seven on target as opposed to four shots on goal for MLC.
Johannes Bourman had the most opportunities for the Knights, as the junior fired off five shots.
The Cougars also had a higher percentage of looks than the Knights, as they gained an advantage in corner kicks (6-1). Forward Aaron MacKall was heavily involved for the Cougars and scored two goals while assisting on another.
Despite the loss, MLC (0-5-1, 0-1) has a chance to bounce back with their first win of the season when they take on Northland at home on Saturday, September 21. Kickoff is planned for 3:30 p.m.
