Schoeneck Sisters Power MLC to Shutout Win Against Maranatha

Watertown, WI - MLC women's soccer shutout Maranatha Baptist 5-0 on Saturday afternoon on the road behind the legs of Katie and Rachel Schoeneck. Katie Schoeneck recorded the hat trick in 74 minutes on seven shot attempts (5 shots on goal). Rachel Schoeneck connected on her first goal of the season at the 58:16 mark of the second period, making it 4-0. Rachel Schoeneck notched five shots for the game, with both sisters dishing out one assist each. Senior defender Lilianne Zimpelmann also got in on the act and scored her first goal of 2024, which came a few minutes after Rachel's goal.

As a team, MLC outshot the Sabercats 29-10 with a 15-5 advantage in shots on target. The Knights got valuable minutes from many players, including forward Priscilla Boehm, who got into the act with five shot attempts in 86 minutes.

Maria Vik recorded her first career shutout with the Knights at the goalkeeper position and made three saves to give the Knights their first win of the season.

The Knights now improve to 1-1-1 on the season and will head a few miles east to Milwaukee to face Wisconsin Lutheran College to complete their weekend road trip in Wisconsin. The game will be at noon on Sunday, September 8.
