MLC Dominates in Win at Crown

St. Bonifacius, MN - The Martin Luther College women's basketball team took on Crown College and found success early and often in their convincing 76-36 win over the Polars on Saturday.

MLC allowed just 13 points in the first half, while taking a 48-13 advantage at the break. The Knights barely missed in the first quarter, shooting nearly 77 percent from the floor, while also drilling 5-of-6 3-point attempts. That hot shooting carried over into the second half as well, as the Knights made 14 shots from beyond the arc, which was a season high.

MLC also rattled Crown all game long, forcing 24 turnovers, leading to 26 points off of the Polars' miscues. In her first game against her former school, Mya Morris had a game-high 16 points and shot 60 percent from the field. The point guard also grabbed five boards and stole two passes. Senior Grace Kieselhorst dropped 10 points and led the Knights with four steals. Meanwhile, Lydia Feidt and Lauren Paulsen pitched in nine points apiece with Feidt snatching six rebounds and blocking two shots. Paulsen also recorded three steals.

The win against Crown also marked the second consecutive game where MLC never trailed and the Knights now improve to 8-4 overall and 2-0 in conference play.

MLC will now focus on their next task at hand when they play at home against Northwestern on Wednesday, January 15, at 7:15 p.m.
