Winona, MN - The Martin Luther College women's tennis squad began the 2025 season against Saint Mary's on Saturday. The Knights battled hard in their matches, but came up short
6-1 to the Cardinals.
Saint Mary's swept doubles play 3-0, but the Knights had some competitive results in singles play.
Britney Prahl took her opponent to a third-set tiebreaker 6-1, 6-7, 3-10 in No. 1 singles, while
Abigail Schewe fought hard in No. 3 singles before falling 4-6, 5-7.
MLC notched their lone point in the overall match from a No. 6 singles victory from
Emily Gronholz 6-4, 7-6.
The Knights (0-1) will be back on the court on Saturday, February 8, at 12:30 p.m. when they play Northwestern College (Iowa) in Owatonna.
