Morris, MN - The Martin Luther College men's basketball dropped their UMAC opener to Minnesota Morris
87-54 on Wednesday evening. The Knights traveled out to Morris for the contest, but didn't find much luck on offense as the Cougars held MLC to just 27 percent shooting from the field. Meanwhile, Minnesota Morris shot nearly 50 percent themselves offensively and received a balanced effort from their group as five players reached double figures with Ian Fahje leading the way with 21 points.
The Cougars did their damage primarily in the paint, scoring 54 of their 87 points inside the key. Although the Knights didn't have the performance they were looking for in their conference opener, the Knights were led by
Adam Loberger, who finished with a team-high 17 points. Junior
Tom Balge was second on the squad with 14 points.
MLC is now 3-5 overall and 0-1 UMAC and will look to rebound with another road game on Saturday, January 11, at Crown College. Tipoff is at 3 p.m. in St. Bonifacius, MN.
