Morris, MN - The MLC men's soccer team gave Minnesota Morris a tough battle on the soccer field today before falling on the road to the Cougars
4-2.
The Knights played much more competitively than its first meeting with Minnesota Morris a few weeks ago where the Cougars defeated MLC 8-0. On Saturday, the Knights matched the Cougars score for score in the first period as the teams entered halftime tied 2-2.Â
Johannes Bourman put the Knights on the scoreboard in the 28th minute on an assist from
Stephen Wietzke. MLC tacked on the equalizer in the 36th minute on a
Noah Walta goal.
10 minutes into the second period, Minnesota Morris broke the tie with Aaron Mackall's second goal of the contest. The Cougars then went on to add an insurance goal with a few minutes remaining in the ball game.
Minnesota Morris held a 31-7 edge in shot attempts and a 15-3 advantage in shots on net.
Joshua Kallies appeared defended the goal for the Knights and picked up 10 saves in his effort on the field.
MLC will now play Bethany on the road on Wednesday, October 15, at 7 p.m.
