St. Paul, MN - The MLC football team was recognized by the conference for a trio of individual performances in its 41-39 home victory over Greenville University this past Saturday.
Brady Turriff (Offensive),
Tom Balge (Defensive), and
Micah Koschnitzke (Special Teams) all took UMAC Players of the Week honors after each player played a pivotal role in the Knights' first UMAC win of the season.
Turriff hit a career high in passing yards (346) and matched his four touchdown effort that he did as a freshman on the road at Greenville in 2024. The sophomore gunslinger completed 62 percent of his passes and connected with
Noah Huebner on a 25-yard touchdown near the 9-minute mark of the fourth quarter on a critical 4th down and 6 play.
Balge recorded 16 tackles for a second consecutive game, leading the Knights in that category. The senior currently sits in fourth amongst all UMAC defenders in tackles this season (58).
Koschnitzke made an impact with his leg, going a perfect 5-of-5 on PAT attempts and totaled 320 yards on seven kickoffs for the MLC special teams. The senior also made seven tackles (1.0 TFL) at the linebacker position, which was second on the Knights defense.
MLC football will travel down to Fulton, Missouri, for a 12 p.m. kickoff at Westminster College on Saturday, October 25.
