ST. PAUL, Minn. -
Brady Turriff's monster game against Crown has earned him UMAC offensive athlete of the week, the conference announced on Tuesday.
The Knights' quarterback threw for 364 yards and 4 touchdowns in the team's 37-29 win vs. the Polars, all while protecting the ball and playing turnover free.
Turriff and the Knights started quickly, jumping out to a 27-0 first-quarter lead. Three of his touchdown passes came in the opening quarter, including a 65-yard strike on the first play of the game to
Trenton Heyn. Crown also struggled to handle sophomore tight end
Noah Huebner, who Turriff found on 11 occasions for 177 yards and three scores, including a 30-yard TD in the second half.
During the third quarter, Turriff also broke MLC's all-time career passing yardage record that had been held for 25 years by Ben Kuerth. The junior now sits at 5,933 yards for his career with 1,644 of them coming so far this season.
It is the fourth time in his career that he has earned player of the week honors.
