New Ulm, MN - The MLC men's soccer team fell to UW-Superior on a hot day for soccer in early October, as the Yellowjackets won
7-1.
The scoring started early and often for UW-Superior, making it 2-0 right away at the ninth and tenth minutes respectively. The Yellowjackets tacked on four additional goals in the remaining game time, but MLC broke the scoring column off of a breakaway goal scored by
Abraham Schlomer near the 40th minute. With the goal, Schlomer recorded his first of the season, while the Knights snapped a three-game scoreless drought.
Despite being out shot by UW-Superior, MLC got off quite a few shots near the goal with a total of 10. Five of their shots were on target, with Schlomer leading with two. The Yellowjackets also had a 10-2 advantage in corner kicks.
MLC will return to the field with another home contest on Tuesday, October 7, at 2 p.m. against Bethany.
