Appleton, WI - MLC men's basketball continued its road trip in Wisconsin with a road game at Lawrence on Saturday. The Knights fell into a 50-30 deficit at halftime and were unable to get back into it, losing
84-71 to the Vikings.
The beginning of the first saw some lead changes up until just over the 12-minute mark when Lawrence put together a 13-0 run, taking a 33-18 lead with under seven minutes left in the half.
MLC wasn't quite able to chip away at the deficit in the second half and was behind by as many as 22 points at one moment. Lawrence scored over half of its points in the paint with a 54-20 edge in that area. The Vikings also scored 17 points off turnovers and had a lot of depth, posting 46 bench points.
Adam Loberger was the leading scorer again for MLC, putting up 21 points and grabbing six rebounds.
Trey Lauber finished with 16 points on 60 percent shooting, while
Benjamin Vasold had 14 points. The top rebounders for the Knights were
Luke Fix (10 rebounds) and
Ethan Kjenstad (9 boards).
MLC will have a few days off before their next game, which will be at home when the Knights host Hamline University at 7:15 p.m.
