Eau Claire, WI - The MLC women's basketball team continued its non-conference slate with a road game at UW-Eau Claire on Monday evening. The Knights gave it their best shot, but the BlugoldsĀ defeated MLC
94-43 in a game in which they never trailed.
UW-Eau Claire took a commanding 21-4 lead after the first quarter, and its depth was on display with all of its players reaching the scoring column. For the game, the Blugolds shot 47 percent from the field and held MLC to 24 percent on the night. UW-Eau Claire also got out into transition, scoring 26 fast-break points.
Despite the loss,
Mya Morris put up a nice effort to lead the Knights in scoring (18 points). The sophomore knocked down four 3-pointers and also collected a pair of steals.
Wilhelmina Wenz also played hard and grabbed a game-high in rebounds (12) and steals (4).
MLC will look to bounce back with a contest at Great Plains Lutheran High School in Watertown, South Dakota, on Wednesday, December 3. There, the Knights will be the "home" team when they take on Trinity Bible College (North Dakota) at 5:30 p.m.
