New Ulm, MN - MLC women's basketball completed the season sweep of Maranatha Baptist on Saturday afternoon at home, beating the Sabercats
91-33. The Knights' 91 points were a season high and came after MLC previously defeated Maranatha 80-24 at their place in November, which was a season low in points allowed for the Knights.
Mya Morris earned a career high in points (32) to lead MLC on the court. The point guard shot well from the floor as well, with an efficient 60 percent from the field, while also knocking down 5-of-11 3-point attempts. Morris also achieved this in just 24 minutes, while also recording four steals defensively.
As a team, the Knights forced 42 turnovers, with 29 of them resulting in steals.
Lydia Feidt led the squad with seven steals, as
Ava Walz (6 steals),
Wilhelmina Wenz (5 steals), and
Ella Schmidt (4 steals) also joined the party.
Wenz (11 points) and Feidt (10 points) were the other two MLC players to reach double figures in points.
MLC never trailed in the contest and was up by 32 points at halftime.
MLC will be back at home against Luther College on Wednesday, December 10, at 6 p.m.
