Owatonna, MN - The Martin Luther College women's tennis team won their second match of the season in consecutive days, topping the Ripon College Red Hawks
5-2 on a neutral court in Owatonna on Saturday.
Ripon won doubles play after taking two of three against MLC, but the Knights took No. 2 doubles (
Rachel Schoeneck/Abigail Schewe) 6-2.
From there, MLC rattled off five points in singles play to win the match and did so in No. 1 singles where
Britney Prahl beat her opponent 6-2, 6-4.
Josephine Bieberitz had a hard-earned win in No. 3 singles, defeating her competition 3-6, 7-5, 1-0.Â
The other three points came via
Rachel Schoeneck (No. 3 singles, 7-5, 6-4),
Emily Gronholz (No. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-1), and
Katie Schoeneck (No. 6 singles, 6-0, 6-1).
MLC goes to 2-2 on the season and has a MIAC opponent up next on Friday, February 21, at 6 p.m. in Minneapolis.
