Minneapolis, MN - On Tuesday, the Martin Luther College men's tennis team lost a non-conference match to Hastings (Nebraska)
5-2 in the morning on a neutral court at the University of Minnesota.
The Knights battled hard in their singles matches asÂ
Isaiah Scharf and
Aidan Mattek each overcame deficits in their respective games before ultimately coming up short. Scharf lost 2-6, 5-7 in No. 4 singles, while Mattek took it to a tiebreaker before his opponent won it 4-6, 6-1, (4-10).
The two points came from
Eli Stern in No. 3 singles, who handled his counterpart 6-4, 6-3, and
Noah Koelpin who defeated his No. 5 adversary 6-3, 6-3.
MLC (0-5) will play their next match after spring break, when they go on the road to Waverly, Iowa to take on Wartburg on Wednesday, April 2, at 3:30 p.m.
