Mankato, MN - MLC men's tennis won their second match of the season with another victory over Bethany on Wednesday, with a sweep of the Vikings
7-0.
The Knights took the doubles point by claiming all three games, including a 6-2 win in No. 1 doubles from
Johannes Bourman and
Eli Stern and in No. 2 doubles via
Isaiah Scharf and
Abraham Schlomer, who claimed it 6-1.
Bourman followed up his No. 1 doubles win with a victory in No. 1 singles, besting his opponent in super tie-breaking fashion 6-3, 3-6, 11-9. Meanwhile, Stern took care of his No. 2 singles game with a 6-2, 6-2 decision in favor of the sophomore.
The other two points to complete the sweep came in No. 3 singles as Scharf won 6-3, 6-1, and from No. 4 singles, where
Noah Koelpin defeated his counterpart 6-0, 6-0.
MLC won No. 5 and No. 6 singles courtesy of a win by default.Â
The Knights improve to 2-8 overall and remain 1-1 in conference play as today's decision counted as a nonconference match.
MLC will play Crown College next on Friday, April 25, at 10:30 a.m. in Waconia, MN.
