St. Paul, MN - MLC baseball was awarded three All-Conference nods on Wednesday, officially announced by the UMAC.
Parker Winghart earned First Team recognition, while
Carlos Walta and
Mark Vogel received Honorable Mention.
Winghart followed up his record-breaking freshman season, in which he also garnered First Team All-UMAC accolades, and another impressive sophomore campaign. The shortstop appeared in all 36 games for the Knights and led MLC in all major hitting categories, including batting average (.328), hits (41), runs (30), doubles (12), and triples (12). Winghart's 30 runs scored this season were the second-most runs in MLC single-season history.
Winghart also tied Walta for the team lead in RBI with 23 apiece.
Walta had a strong start to his career at MLC. The junior was second on the squad in batting average (.320), doubles (11), hits (39), and runs (23), tied with
John Westendorf. The junior led MLC as a slugger and had the most home runs (5).
Vogel had a solid sophomore season behind the plate and finished fourth on the team in batting average (.308) and runs (19). As the catcher, Vogel had a .965 fielding percentage and tied with
Sam Rodriguez for the most putouts recorded with 166.
Senior
Carter Seltz was named to the All-Sportsmanship team, representing the Knights on and off the field.
