WLC Shuts Out MLC 4-0

New Ulm, MN - The MLC women's soccer team took on WLC in a non conference contest on Sunday afternoon on the MLC soccer pitch and the Knights played the Warriors hard in the first half, staying within striking distance down 1-0. However, WLC turned it on the second half, to defeat MLC 4-0.

WLC had a 16-2 edge in shots on goal and had 10 corner kicks to give themselves high percentage looks at the net. Midfielder Emma Adema scored two of the Warriors' four goals in only 50 minutes of play.

All MLC players got some time on the field and Katie Schoeneck got off seven shots (1 on goal) for the Knights.

Maria Vik recorded eight saves in 50 minutes of play before freshman Miriam Bitter came in to relieve Vik. Both MLC goalkeepers allowed two goals.

MLC (0-2) will go on to play Minnesota Morris in a game that won't count as a conference match. The Knights head to Morris, MN on Wednesday, September 3, at 4:30 p.m.
