Crown scores 6 goals in 2nd half to beat MLC

St. Bonifacius, MN - The MLC men's soccer team resumed play after being off for nearly a week when they took on Crown College on the road Wednesday evening. The Knights were in the contest at the break, down 3-1, but the Polars had a strong second half and went on an offensive explosion, scoring six goals to beat MLC 9-2.

Crown's Ashton Holser had a big night on the field, scoring four goals for his squad. Holser had two of his four goals in the first period and added a couple more in the second, including a goal at the 51st minute to put the Polars up 4-1.

Joshua Krenke put the Knights on the board early with his second goal of the season in the seventh minute, while Caleb Pausma had the assist on the play. Silas Gawrisch connected on the other MLC goal in the 67th minute on a pass from Johannes Bourman.

Crown controlled possession and had a 23-4 advantage in shots on goal. MLC's goalkeeper was Joshua Kallies, who filled in for Nicholas Russ, who is currently injured. Kallies recorded 14 saves.

MLC will look to bounce back with its second UMAC game of the year when they host North Central for Parents' Day on Saturday, September 20, at 2 p.m.
