New Ulm, MN - On Saturday, MLC men's soccer celebrated Parents' Day for its first conference home game of the season. The Knights took on North Central, and both teams were in a defensive battle for much of the game until the Rams put across three goals in the second half to come away with the
3-0 win over MLC.
The goal that broke the scoreless tie came in the 55th minute for North Central, and two more were added in the 59th and 81st minutes of action to ensure the victory for them.
Both teams were fairly even in the shot chart, with the Rams holding a 24-17 advantage in total shots and a 12-6 edge in shots on goal. North Central also had more corner kicks than MLC (6-2).
Johannes Bourman led the Knights with seven shots (3 on net), and
Joshua Kallies recorded nine saves, filling in for
Nick Russ, who is out for the season due to injury.
MLC men's soccer will be in search of its first win of the year when it plays another home contest against Minnesota Morris on Tuesday, September 23, at 2 p.m.
