Superior, WI - The MLC men's and women's golf teams participated in the Twin Ports Collegiate on Saturday and Sunday at the Nemadji Golf Course hosted by UW-Superior.
The MLC men placed
11th out of 13 schools with a two round total score of
648 strokes (330 Rd 1) (318 Rd 2).Â
The lowest individual score for the MLC men came from
Benjamin Pearson, who finished in a T-26th overall with over 90 golfers playing. Pearson finished 36 holes in 157 strokes (83 Rd 1) (74 Rd 2).
John Martin had a 36-hole score of 158 and finished just after Pearson in T-32nd overall. Martin shot in 80 strokes in round one on Saturday and 78 on Sunday. Meanwhile,
Luke Latzke placed in a T-42nd with his two round total of 161 (78 Rd 1) (83 Rd 2).
The MLC women placed
fifth in the team standings after shooting in
827 strokes (418 Rd 1) (409 Rd 2).
Myah Loberger was the top Knights' finisher, placing 18th overall. The sophomore shot a 185 with a score of 93 strokes on Saturday, followed by 92 strokes on Sunday.
Chloe Berg placed 19th overall with a score of 186. In 36 holes, Berg shot 99 in round one and 87 in round two.
MLC golf will now prepare for the UMAC Preview, which will be played at Pebble Creek Golf Course in Becker, MN, on Thursday, September 11. Tee times are scheduled for 10 a.m. that day.
