Plymouth, WI - MLC women's soccer had one more game on its weekend road trip to Wisconsin and after they beat Maranatha Baptist on Saturday 4-0, they had a chance for another win when they matched up with Lakeland University on Sunday.
Both teams made it hard for the other team to score, but the Knights finally got one to go as
Anna Kramer connected on a shot to score the game's only goal in the 57th minute. As a result, the Knights won
1-0 over the Muskies.
Kramer's goal came on a pass from sophomore
Priscilla Boehm and the goal gave MLC its third consecutive victory after previously beating Minnesota Morris and Maranatha Baptist on the road as well. MLC had the edge in total shots (12-8) and in shots on goal (8-5).
Head Coach
Tyson Zarnstorff was pleased with his team's effort and persistence. "We played an all-around game today. The team was resilient especially after
Katie Schoeneck went down with an ankle injury."
With the help of her defense,
Maria Vik recorded another shutout as goalkeeper and recorded five saves. Kramer and Boehm led with two shots on goal.
MLC (3-2) will go on the road again when they play Waldorf (IA) on Thursday, September 11, at 7:30 p.m.
