Box Score Forest City, Iowa - The MLC women's soccer team had some momentum heading into Thursday's nonconference matchup with NAIA school Waldorf University on the road. The Knights had previously won three consecutive games and didn't end up losing to the Warriors as they came back from a 2- 0 deficit before the game ended in a
2-2 tie.
MLC fought hard to get back into the game as
Priscilla Boehm scored the Knights' first goal on a penalty kick in the 74th minute. The two Waldorf goals were both scored by Olivia Cross in the 15th and 26th minute respectively of the first period.
Boehm would later set up the game tying goal that was eventually put in by
Karissa Holdcroft in the 83rd minute. Boehm had the assist on the goal.
Both teams were almost even in terms of shots on goal as the Warriors held the slight edge 10-8. Boehm led MLC with three shots on net, while
Naomi Foley shot two of them.
Meanwhile,
Maria Vik recorded eight saves in 90 minutes of action as the Knights' goalkeeper.
MLC moves to 3-2-1 on the season and will play its first UMAC game of the year next Wednesday, September 17, at Crown. The game will start at 7 p.m.
