Lydia Feidt recognized for Senior Night while Rams rally past the Knights

New Ulm, MN - The MLC women's basketball team entered tonight's home game with North Central with an opportunity to keep its season alive with a win against North Central. The Knights fought hard, but ultimately fell short, as the Rams outscored MLC 21-11 in the fourth quarter to clinch a bid for themselves in the UMAC Tournament, beating the Knights 61-54.

MLC sped up North Central with its full-court press and forced 13 turnovers in the first half alone and helped MLC take a 28-25 lead into the half.

Both teams scored 15 points in the third quarter, but the Rams would take their first lead of the game early on in the fourth. NiNi Davenport (17 points) hit one of her four 3-pointers with just five minutes remaining and put North Central up 52-47. At that point, the Rams grabbed the momentum as the Knights were held without a made field goal the rest of the way.

MLC played well defensively again, but struggled to make shots on offense. Despite the result, the Knights received a pair of double-double performances from Wilhelmina Wenz (12 points, 13 rebounds) and Ava Stein (13 points, 13 rebounds). Wenz was also vying for a possible triple-double, recording seven steals, with five occurring in the first quarter alone.

Ella Walz finished with 14 points, leading the Knights in scoring. Lydia Feidt was recognized for playing in her final game with MLC on Senior Night. Feidt appeared in 85 games and compiled 830 points, 406 rebounds, and 192 steals in her career for the Knights. Feidt also finishes off the year as the UMAC leader in steals (82) for the 2025-26 season.

While MLC did not clinch a spot in the UMAC tournament, the Knights were competitive game in and game out and played well, especially undermanned with the injury to Mya Morris. The Knights finish off the 2025-26 campaign 11-14 overall, 4-8 UMAC.
