Little River, SC - The MLC softball team dropped the final two games of its tripleheader on Thursday. Penn State Mont Alto defeated the Knights
15-4, and Albion College (MI) beat MLC
9-2.
Game 1 PSU Mont-Alto 15, MLC 4
In game one, the Nittany Lions put together four runs in the fourth, six in the fifth frame, and four more runs to put the contest out of reach.
Despite the loss, MLC got a multi-hit (2) and RBI (2) game from
Kierah Schultz. Kaylee Pickering led the squad in hits (3) and runs (2).
Game 2 Albion 9, MLC 2
The MLC softball team hung in tough with Albion College (MI) and tied the game 2-2 thanks to a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth.
However, the Brits took the game with a 7-run top of the seventh to take command of the game. In the inning, Albion also recorded seven base hits and won the contest
9-2.
The game was rescheduled from Sunday, March 8, the first day of MLC's spring break trip.
