Auburndale, FL - MLC dropped both games of its doubleheader to Blackburn College (IL) on Thursday by the final scores of
12-1 and
4-3 in Game 2.

The beavers rolled out to a 7-1 lead through three innings and didn't look back as they out hit MLC 14-6, while MLC committed three errors defensively. Blackburn's starting pitcher, Kannon Dempsey, had a good outing from the mound, throwing a complete game with six K's.

Game 2 Blackburn 4, MLC 3
Through two innings played in the second matchup, MLC took a 3-2 lead and benefited from a couple of errors by the Beavers.
John Westendorf hit an RBI single in the third, but the difference in the game was and RBI single this time by Blackburn in the bottom of the seventh.
Carlos Walta had a solid outing on the mound, pitching 6.1 innings and allowing just four runs to go along with four strikeouts.
