OSHKOSH, Wis. - The Martin Luther College volleyball team closed the two-day UW-Oshkosh Volleyball Invitational with a pair of 3-0 losses to Illinois Wesleyan and UW-Oshkosh.
Illinois Wesleyan 3, MLC 0The Knights opened the day with a 3-0 loss to Illinois Wesleyan by the scores of 25-13, 25-12 and 25-11.
IWU was able to frustrate the MLC attack with eight blocks in the match, and also had success with an attack rate of .241.
Emily Neeb led the Knights with nine digs.
Kira Grev and
Jade St. Germaine each finished with four kills.
UW-Oshkosh 3, MLC 0MLC lost the finale of the tournament to host UW-Oshkosh by the scores of 25-13, 25-12 and 25-21.
UWO entered the match ranked 19th in the nation in the most recent poll, and hit .312 on the attack for the match.
MLC was able to block 7.5 attacks, led by four from
Moriah Hackbarth.
Laura Schoenherr led MLC with 11 assists. Neeb and Grev once again led the Knights with 12 digs and six kills, respectively.
MLC fell to 4-22 with the two defeats. IWU improved to 18-5, while UWO moved to 20-5.
The Knights return to action on Wednesday, October 21, when they host Minnesota Morris. That match is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
