ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. - The Martin Luther College volleyball tea clinched a spot in the UMAC Postseason Tournament with a 3-0 win at Crown Tuesday by the scores of 25-20, 25-17 and 25-13.
The Knights controlled the match from the start, hitting .223 compared to -.009 for the Storm.
Grace Schultz was the top hitter for MLC, finishing with eight kills and hitting .462 on the attack for the match.
Rylee Weisensel also had an efficient match, hitting .357 with seven kills, and also tying
Moriah Hackbarth for the team lead with four blocks.
Heidi Moldenhauer led MLC with 30 assists, while
Kira Grev finished with a strong all-around effort with ten kills, ten digs and three blocks.
The Knights improved to 5-23 overall and 4-3 in UMAC play with the win, while Crown fell to 6-20 on the season and 1-6 in league play in defeat.
The top five teams in the final conference standings make the UMAC Postseason Tournament, and the Knights are currently tied for fourth in the conference with three losses. The fourth and fifth seeds in the final standings will compete against each other in a play-in game on Monday, November 2.
The Knights have one final game in the regular season on Friday, October 30, against Northwestern. That match is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.
