SUPERIOR, Wis. - The Martin Luther College volleyball team was never able to get on track in a 3-0 loss at UW-Superior by the scores of 25-14, 25-20 and 25-17.
The two teams entered the match tied for third in the UMAC standings thanks to a five-set MLC win over the Yellowjackets on September 27, but UWS was the stronger side from the start in this battle.
The Yellowjackets finished with an attack efficiency of .245 compared to .035 for MLC. The Knights were led by
Jade St. Germaine with six kills, followed by
Ruth Buchholz and
Grace Schultz with five apiece.
Taylor Weber tied Schultz for the team lead with 11 digs, while
Kati Aguilar led the team with two total blocks.
MLC fell to 13-13 on the season and 8-4 in UMAC play in defeat. UWS improved to 15-9 on the season and 9-3 in conference play with the win.
The Knights will return to action on Tuesday, October 17, when they host Minnesota Morris in a match scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
