NEW ULM, Minn. - The Martin Luther College women's tennis team defeated Bethany Lutheran 8-1 in Tuesday's match.

The Knights took all three points in doubles by the scores of 8-1, 8-5 and 9-7, and then won five of the six singles matches in straight sets.

Anna Hemmelman, Rachel Riediger, Sophia Birner, Morgan Shevey and Molly Paggi each earned two points for the Knights with wins in both singles and doubles.

MLC improved to 4-7 overall and 4-2 in the UMAC with the win. BLC fell to 3-13 on the season and 3-3 in league play in defeat.

The Knights will return to action on April 19 when they play at BLC.
