NEW ULM, Minn. - The Martin Luther College volleyball team lost 3-0 against St. Olaf in a non-conference match on Monday by the scores of 25-13, 25-17 and 25-18.
The Oles jumped out to big leads early in each of the first two sets, but the teams went back and forth to start the third. Tied 12-12, the Oles began to pull away, and then scored seven of the game's final nine points to clinch the win.
St. Olaf came out of the gates strong with a .517 attack percentage in the first game and finished the match with an attack efficiency of .326. MLC hit .069 for the match.
Jade St. Germaine led MLC with seven kills.
Kira Grev and
Grace Schultz added six and five kills, respectively, while Grev also recorded three blocks.
MLC fell to 10-7 on the season in defeat. St. Olaf improved to 12-5 with the win.
The Knights will return to action on Wednesday, September 27, when they host a UMAC tringular against Northwestern and UW-Superior. The Knights will face Northwestern and 3 p.m. to start the event, and then finish with UW-Superior at 7 p.m.
