NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The Martin Luther College volleyball team lost 3-0 (25-17, 25-19, 25-8) at St. Olaf in the final non-conference match of the season on Wednesday.
The Knights played the Oles tough to open the first two sets, but St. Olaf was able to close strong in both sets to take a commanding 2-0 lead. The Oles scored five of the final six points to close the first set, and then ran off the final five points to win the second game.
In the third set, the Oles hit .435 while the Knights were unable to get anything going on the attack to give St. Olaf the sweep.
MLC hit .038 for the match, while the Oles hit .280 in the win.
Alyssa Heckendorf led MLC with five kills.
Jewel St. Germaine led the Knights with 10 digs.Â
The Knights fell to 6-22 this season in defeat. St. Olaf improved to 20-5 with the win.
MLC will return to action for its home finale on Saturday, October 20, when it hosts Northland in a match scheduled to start at 3 p.m.
