NEW ULM, Minn. - The Martin Luther College moved back to .500 in UMAC play thanks to a 3-0 (25-20, 25-20, 25-16) sweep of North Central University on Tuesday.
The Rams were game for a tough match through the first two sets, as the Knights overcame nine serving errors in those sets to take a 2-0 lead in the match.
MLC started to assert itself in the third set, hitting .296 on the attack on the way to a three-set sweep.
Kati Aguilar led the team with 13 kills , while
Ruth Buchholz and
Alyssa Heckendorf each recorded seven kills. Buchholz hit a team-high .600 for the match and also led the Knights with three blocks.
Jewel St. Germaine led the team with 20 assists, while
Katelyn Aswege recorded an MLC-best 13 digs.
MLC improved to 5-15 on the season and 5-5 in UMAC play with the win. NCU fell to 5-14 overall and 1-8 in league play in defeat.
The Knights will return to action tomorrow (Wednesday, October 3) when they travel to Macalester for a match scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
